The Chef

Executive Chef/Owner Steve Luther is an Alabama native and began working in the restaurant business during college, although his passion for cooking began at the early age of 5 years old where he was very interested and participated in his parents kitchen.

Steve studied hospitality and restaurant management at the University of Mississippi and continued his education at Culinard here in Birmingham, AL and graduated at the top of his class. Although Steve apprenticed under several great Birmingham chefs, his heart remained at Fire working for Danny Lasseter. Steve began working at Fire in July of 2005 as the Sous Chef and quickly learned that his ultimate dream was to open up a place of his own. Fire was the perfect opportunity to continue to show his talent.

In March 2010, Steve became the sole owner of Fire. With the help of the loyal staff, Fire Restaurant will continue its take on Southern American Cuisine; or as Steve likes to call it “kicked-up Southern cuisine”.
