The Restaurant

The concept of “neighborhood bar and grill” deserves its own genre. It is a difficult thing to define but you know it when you see it. Fire Restaurant in Mountain Brook is that place.

Chef/Owner Danny Lasseter made a lifestyle choice when he decided to open a restaurant with a more casual atmosphere than the ones he’d worked in for years. Armed with the belief that fine foods don’t necessarily have to be “haute” or expensive to be enjoyed he focuses on technique and quality, more so than the exotic or whimsical. “When I opened Fire I was tired of the rigors of fine dining, the pretentious nature of gourmands and not seeing my family. Also and more importantly, underneath it all I think I realized I might not possess the same creative inspiration or the philosophic fortitude as the many chefs I idolized and tried to mimic. The day I decided to stop trying to be great and simply focused on being good consistently, my life changed.” And so did dining in Crestline.

8 years later Fire quietly plugs along serving solid, honest and affordable fare to the families in and around Crestline that come back time and again. Come find out what Crestliners hope to keep to themselves.
